Trivia and Tunes with Second Family Home Care travelled to McKinney this past week to entertain the residents at the Memory Care Community of Orchard Park. Fifteen residents participated in the brain-training time of fun questions and singing led by Director of Marketing, Tim Powell. Many of them knew that the largest state in the country is Alaska, but who would have guessed that the first commercial microwave oven produced in 1954 was five feet tall and weighed 750 pounds??? “Moon River” is featured in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s and “Oh What a Beautiful Morning” is the very first song in the musical “Oklahoma!” These were two of the favorite songs to which everyone sang along! Activity Director, Sadie Hayes was a great host and an enthusiastic participant; helping to answer questions and singing right along with everyone!
Recently opened in the spring of 2011, Orchard Park is a warm and cozy community designed to promote creativity and independence within a safe and loving environment, providing first-class McKinney Assisted Living and Memory Care. With separate Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, Orchard Park is also ideal for aging in place without disrupting residents’ lives with a move.
With its convenient location, a host of dedicated services, and a wide array of amenities, each resident’s wants and needs are carefully tended to in an atmosphere dedicated to the closeness of family and friends. Located on Medical Center Drive in McKinney, Texas, Orchard Park is just a few blocks north of McKinney Medical Center and the intersection of Highway 75 and 121.
Second Family Home Care provides a variety of services to meet the needs of our clients, whether they live at home, are in rehab, or reside in any type of senior living community. Our caregivers are specialized in Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and receive extensive training which equips them to best care for our clients with memory disorders. In our ongoing efforts to help the clients and caregivers who live with Alzheimer’s or dementia we have engaged with a large number of memory care communities, physicians who specialize in memory disorders, adult memory day care centers, and local churches.
A big thank you to Sadie Hayes and Orchard Park Memory Care of McKinney for yet another great time of Trivia and Tunes- we had a wonderful time meeting and engaging with the residents, and we hope to be back again very soon!
